Artist Statement
In my practice, I work with a wide array of visual mediums to convey my intentions. In my current work, I hope to engage both myself and my viewers in the discussion of waste culture. I do this by experimenting with different ways of incorporating waste materials into my work and creating a new form of media for myself. In manipulating these materials into both art objects and functional works I aim to highlight the material quality of the "single" use objects of our everyday. Discovering new ways to give life to these objects is at the core of my work. I hope to inspire others to do the same.
In the past much of my work spoke to our relationship with technology and its impact on individual identity and psyche. Questioning our internet-based existence and neglect of the physical world around us. These ideas are still prevalent in my work however apparent they may be.
